How precious is my boy, Bolo’s in love! And how lovely is this relationship between Bolo and his favorite vet, Dr. Top? This makes his house calls a real pleasure, and Bolo the best patient. Dr. Top spends ages petting, talking to and of course examining Bolo, and he loves every minute of it. It’s simply amazing!

Bolo’s latest checkup revealed improvements to his liver, gallbladder, and potassium. They may be small adjustments, but we’ll take what we can get!

Here’s what the blood results reported: the liver and gallbladder parameters showed a decrease, and the potassium a slight increase. This means the medication mentioned in his last visit, seems to be helping.

We’ll try these for another three weeks and see if he continues to show an improvement, in his blood tests anyway. I haven’t noticed any difference in Bolo myself, he still has an insatiable thirst and pees all day and night long. We discussed this and looks as if there won’t be a change in that regard as these medications are only to help maintain healthy levels for his organs that have been affected by his age.

There is a medication we could try for incontinence, but we decided that the chemical properties most likely would only put his liver in more jeopardy. So… more incontinence pads and bellyband liners it is!

If anyone has any ideas on how to leave a more eco-friendly footprint, I’m all ears!

Dr. Top and I talked for quite some time – this wonderful man spent well over an hour chatting about Bolo and other natural remedies, and even my plants and own personal home therapy treatments. He’s interested in everything, and that makes him a great veterinarian – and human in general. This humble gentleman is always open to learning new things, and is so interested in bettering himself. We can all learn a lesson from Dr. Top!
