We sure hope you’re all doing well in what most people would call the summer season. This normally is a time of taking weekend retreat getaways and vacations with loved ones, including your dog if at all possible.
For Bolo and I last weekend, not only was it possible, but we were greeted with such warm hospitality at this little heaven on earth, that I just had to share.
This home away from home paradise is known as Liam’s Suan Dok Mai, and I can highly recommend it to fellow dog lovers. I believe their policy is one dog per room, but please check before booking just to be on the safe side.
What is not to love? It’s not far from Chiang Mai proper, but feels a million miles away. Liam’s provides beautiful and tastefully decorated rooms, with all desired amenities, a stunning lush garden and pool area, on premises restaurant – with an amazing breakfast, and more importantly, superb personalized service from the owners Marcel and Koen.
These lovely gentlemen go above and beyond to make your stay a smooth and peaceful one, and are extremely accommodating and seem to anticipate your every need. Five stars for sure!
As far as how Bolo did, he had a bit of a hard time settling in as there were other dogs there, and he just really wanted to be out doing dog things. Now that he’s no longer able to walk on his own, he must be incredibly frustrated he cannot do so. He did sleep well and behaved himself, as he is too, a gentleman.
Mom on the other hand, needs a dog-free weekend where she can actually get some rest, something sorely lacking for about the past 6 months now. Caring for an immobile pet isn’t for sissies, and some days you’re just zapped and need a decent night’s sleep to rest up and recharge.
So… a solo trip back to this little hidden gem seems in the offing and hopefully in the very near future. They currently happen to be running a special, and considering the circumstances, and it’s a real bargain Chiang Mai locals should take advantage of. Why not treat yourself for a night or two of genuine R &R at Liam’s Suan Dok Mai, it really is the perfect place.

What a great escape for owner and dog!
It sure was, amazing to find a dog-friendly hotel. Looking forward to going back, just lovely!
Looks and sounds fab! So happy to see you both able to get away for some enjoyment. Bolo is becoming quite the man around town! 😍
It was great, thanks. Isn’t he just! He seems more content at home though, so his man-about-town days could be numbered.;)
